SAINT MATTHEW'S YOUTH GROUP

Youth Ministry is a priority at Saint Matthew's.  As they traverse the sometimes turbulent waters of adolescence, we want our teens to know that they are deeply loved by God and by their faith community. We want to provide opportunities for them to grow in their faith, giving them a safe place to explore their relationships with God and with each other.  We want to help them learn the importance of loving one's neighbor as oneself.

Matthew’s Youth Group encourages all kids in grades 7 – 12 to participate in the many exciting and interesting activities planned for the 2008-09 school year.  The theme of this year’s program is  “Homelessness and Hunger.”

  • We will be experiencing what it’s like to be without shelter, food, money (and electronics!)  in a mock setting, then work together to heighten awareness as we raise money, harvest food, serve meals and lend a helping hand to those in need.
  • We are inviting the youth from St. Mark and Central Baptist Churches to join us in some of our fellowship and outreach events.
  • We are even exploring the opportunity of participating in the Central Baptist Church’s annual mission trip in June 2009.
