Unity ARP’s Position Statement
We believe in the inerrancy, infallibility, and full authority of
the Bible. Jesus said, "Thy Word is truth". (John 17:17) The pursuit
of God's truth is the most important quest that a human being can undertake. The
Bible alone contains the sure truth about God, how we may know Him and how we
may have eternal life. Therefore, at Unity Presbyterian, we place a high
priority upon Bible study and sound preaching of God's Word.
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do
all to the glory of God." (1Cor 10:31 NKJV) We strive to glorify God in all
that we do at Unity. Too often in churches, decisions are made on the basis of
either "what will work" or "what will make people happy".
However, the glory and honor of God must be the basis of all our doings. This
often goes against the prevailing views of man, but this is the only course that
will please our sovereign Lord. When we seek His glory above all else, we find
that God also gives us great happiness. That happiness consists primarily in
knowing and enjoying Him!
We thank God for our heritage as one of the
oldest denominations in the country. The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church
was organized in 1782. It is a denomination which holds to the historic
Christian faith. Our expanded doctrinal statement is found in the Westminster
Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
