Major Purposes of "The Gathering"
to provide a place for believers from different backgrounds to meet one another and develop ongoing, Christ-centered relationships.
to offer in-depth Bible teaching for believers who want the "meat" of the word of God and not simply the "milk."
to provide a platform for various five-fold ministry giftings (apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher) to share what God is saying to them and impart the truths of God's word to God's people.
to encourage believers to discover, develop, and activate the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
to provide an atmosphere through anointed praise and worship for believers to experience God's manifest Presence.
to offer a setting in which individuals who desire prayer and godly counsel can receive such in a secure, loving manner.
to provide an opportunity for believers to receive prayer for the healing of their bodies through the anointing with oil and the prayer of faith.
- to provide an opportunity for an individual to receive salvation by faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ through prayer and repentance, or to receive water baptism by immersion, or to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
to encourage believers to have a bold, holy passion for Jesus Christ and allow the dealings of God to operate in their lives in order to grow spiritually.
to exalt Jesus Christ in all things and "provoke one another to love and good works" (Hebrews 10:23).
to offer periodically the opportunity to observe the Lord's Supper and the ceremony of foot-washing as an act of servanthood and humility before fellow believers.
to offer opportunities for believers to learn about the work of God on foreign fields and be given the opportunity to give financially to these missionary endeavors.
to be willing to use every avenue and opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a bold, evangelistic manner through home Bible study groups, home prayer meetings, praise and worship events, street evangelism, nursing home ministry, jail ministry, drama ministry, backyard Bible clubs for children, and other mediums of service.
