Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

"Delight to Do His Will"
by
Glenn Kennedy

The Lord Jesus Christ calls us daily to walk lovingly and compassionately together as we grow into the image of Himself.  We are "becomers," at various places in our growth with varied levels of understanding.  But Christ is to be the Supreme Love of our hearts.  He is to be our all in all, and He is gloriously perfecting His work.  He is in the process of glorifying us.  Those whom He foreknew, He predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son:  those whom He predestined, He called:  those whom He called, He justified, and those whom He justified, He also glorified (Romans 8:29-30).
The Lord desires to remake us into spiritual beings who are not controlled by the old, fallen, Adamic nature.  Every circumstance of your life is known by Him and will be used by Him for our re-formation.  Nothing happens by chance.  God uses all things for the forming of our new-creation, spiritual man. We must always remember that He is the potter.  We are only the clay.  May we be totally pliable in His tender, loving hands.  May we never react to His Divine Dealings in a defiant, angry, and rebellious manner.
The change in the life of the true Christian is to be so radical and our desires are to be so caught up with Christ's desires, that we will become as dead men and women.  We, as believers, are often referred to in the scriptures as being dead to self and alive to God in Christ.  Reckon yourself dead unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord . . . For sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:11-14).
When we try to protect our own emotions, ambitions, and desires rather than be obedient to the Lord and His Will, we are not walking in the Spirit of Christ.  Walking in the Spirit means walking in the Christ-centered life, with His wishes, His calling, and His anointing at the forefront.  We all want fulfillment and purpose to our lives.  It can only come by walking in the Spirit.  We all want to be fruit-bearers for the furtherance of His Kingdom.  We want to be expressions of Christ's peace, joy, long-suffering, and love.   It can only come as we walk in the Spirit.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, let me encourage you to yield every activity, every day, every thought to Him for cleansing.  Live in a close and constant communion with Him, the Christ of Unsearchable Riches.  He will give you a heart of utter devotion to Him, if you will focus only on Him and listen to the Holy Spirit's call.
Have you gone through the fiery furnace of a Job experience recently?  If so, do not wonder, dear child of God.  It is but a preparation for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to operate more fully in your ministry to others.  It is for the enlarging of your spiritual vision.  Rest in Christ's unfailing love.  Walk in a full assurance that God is in control.  Yield to Him in all circumstances.  Know that He has designed your all-but-impossible situations to burn away the dross (the self within) and complete His wonderful work in you.
We have no other choice.  If we are to grow up into Him, if we are to be made holy, if we are to find contentment, we must go the path of God's choosing.  All other roads are dead-ends.
Precious saints of God, pursue the work of His Spirit within you.  Pursue Him daily.  Run with a holy passion into His Everlasting Arms.  Seek to use your gifts and abilities to honor only Him.  Then will you be enabled to joyfully say with the Psalmist David, I delight to do thy will, O my God:  yea, thy law is within my heart (Psalm 40:8).

With His love to guide us,

Brother Glenn Kennedy
