The Discipleship Strategy of Lakeview Baptist Church Student Ministry

Understanding that the parent is the number one influencer in the faith development of a teenager. As one author put it, “when it comes to influencing the faith development of a teenager, the youth minister or Sunday school teacher will always be ’Robin’, and the parent will always be ‘Batman’.” In other words, compared to the influence of the parent , the youth staff and volunteer workers will always be your sidekick. It is one of our goals to make you, the parent, a hero in your teenagers life. True, this realization may not happen before they graduate, but the day is coming when they will realize the value of what you taught them and the example you set before them. The student ministry wants you to get involved in going through the discipleship process with your teenager.
