Wednesday Night Bible Study Heads for the Hills!
Instead of their regular 5th Wednesday night meal, the midweek Prayer and Bible Study group headed for the mountains along the Greene-Cocke counties line. They had a covered dish picnic at the Houston Valley campground and picnic area, then they drove 2 1/2 miles up to the Meadow Creek Mountain Fire Tower, which incidentally is an elevation of 2875 feet, a steep rise from the 2010 feet where they turned off the main road.
There the group climbed the steps to the fire tower itself, and spent some time looking around, locating landmarks and communities in the valley below. As sunset neared, they were led in devotions by Dan Duggar, who had suggested the trip, and all 43 people who attended agreed it was one of the best meetings in some time.
