The Sanctuary Clock
Darrell Elrod, Sr.
June 16, 1911 - March 14, 1991
"Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord; abide in him always, and feed on his word."
He was a man who loved his church and loved people, but was for many years kept by illness from being with and enjoying them as he would have liked. He had been a youth counselor and an active member of his church, but long illness kept him homebound and away from the activities he enjoyed. We never know the time we may or may not have, we can only use the time of our lives as fully as we possibly can, so that when we are robbed of more time we can look back at our time with satisfaction and not regret. To remind us of the fleeting nature of time and to keep us mindful of how we spend our time not just in worship but in all of our life, this sanctuary clock is dedicated to the worship and service of God and to the memory of Darrell Elrod, Sr.
