"I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses, and the voice I hear falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses"
He was a gardener and a carpenter, a man who spent his working years building homes and his retired years growing plants. She was a housewife who spend all her years building a home and growing her family and friends. He was a craftsman who could appreciate the skilled hand required to build or fashion things from wood. She was a wife and mother who could appreciate the skilled hand required to build and maintain a Christian home. He was a patient tender of things who could tell you how many apples were on each tree and who loved to plant and care for things and to watch them grow and bloom and bear fruit. She was a patient tender of people who kept watch over their lives and character and delighted in seeing them grow and bear fruit. Despite the braggings of his friends and family and their inability to match his success, he and his wife always remembered who really made their plants and home grow and it was to this Gardener that they turned to for comfort and security, especially in their final years. To help us remember the beauty of the gardens and plants our gardener and his wife tended and to remind us of the Gardener they served and depended on to tend and grow them, this plaque is dedicated to the worship and service of God and to the memory of Spencer and Nell Britton.
