Children's Church is Cancelled Until March 28, 2010

Due to the Official Pulpit Search Presentations, our Grace Children’s Church has been postponed until March 28, 2010.



San Antonio Food Bank

The San Antonio Food Bank is in need of nonperishable protein items.  If you are able to donate such items as peanut butter or canned tuna, spam, Vienna sausage,   chicken,  ham corned  beef, etc., these   items   would   be   greatly appreciated.   Please let your friends, or people  at  your job who may wish  to donate, know  about our Church Food Drive, sponsored by THE OUTREACH   COMMITTEE. 


Easter Clothes Drive

The Outreach Committee is asking your assistance to provide Easter clothing for boys and girls.  We need dresses for girls from toddlers to teens and suits or slacks and shirts for boys from toddlers to teens.  Please have   the  items  cleaned  or  pressed  and  on hangers.

Claude and Zer Nona Black Foundation - Black Tie Gala/Fundraiser

Taj Matthews (the grandson of Rev. Claude Black), and the Claude and Zer Nona Black Foundation will be hosting its first Black Tie Gala/Fundraiser in several years on Monday, March 29th from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Sunset Station. 

The Honorable Judge Greg Mathis from the Judge Mathis Television Show will be the keynote speaker, and Jelynne Burley, Gary Clack, Choco Meza, and Sen Leticia Van de Putte will all be honored.  Mayor Julian Castro is the Honorary Event Chair.  Individual tickets are $60.00.  All proceeds will go to the development of the Zer Nona Black Community Outreach Center.

On tomorrow night, February 22nd, the Brotherhood will visit senior citizens at the Southeast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located at 4302 East Southcross Blvd. Our Church van will leave Grace promptly at 6:15 p.m.  The Brotherhood Ministry encourages all Grace Men to join in and help us administer a little “tender loving care” as we praise God with these senior citizens.


Church Women United in San Antonio (CWU) will meet at John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 8102 Midcrown Drive, on Friday, March 5th at 9:30 a.m.  This meeting will be in honor of human rights celebration. Our Church van will leave Grace promptly at 9 a.m. Please contact Sis. Ruby Hobdy at 645-4287 or Sis. Ruth Beasley at 673-2116 for your reservation.

Please be aware that DVD's, CD's and Cassette Tapes are available for each worship service at Grace First Baptist Church.  Sign up for your DVD's  @ 10.00 each, CD's and Cassette Tapes are only 3.00.  The folder to order is located in the vestibule.  Contact Bro. Joseph Guntz (509-4939) for DVD's and Bro. Tillman Lanier (684-5504) for CDs and Tapes.




The church Secretary's Office is open for business Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except for weekends and holidays.  The church telephone number is (210) 674-3652.

All announcements for the Church Sunday bulletin must be typed or legibly hand-written and received in the Church Secretary's Office by 12 noon on the Tuesday preceding the Sunday you desire to have the anouncement published.  Announcements received after the deadline for the following week.
