HIGHLIGHTING  FEATURED EVENTS

2012 One Church One School Dream Keepers Workshop - The Workshop will be held at Metropolitan C.M.E. Church at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2002.  Metropoitan C.M.E. Church is located at 8955 South Freeway (Hwy. 288 @ Reed Road) Houston, Texas  77051.   This Worship is hosted by the Houston District of the Southeast Texas Region of the   C.M.E. Church.   Everyone is invited to attend. Though the workshop will highlight the life, legacy, and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - the Workshop focus will be his six non-violent principles.   There will be a MLK Worship Service following at 6:00 PM.  Bishop Henry M. Williamson, Sr., the Presiding Prelate of the Eighth Episcopal District of the C.M.E. Church, will be the speaker.  Bishop Williamson is the founder of One Church One School (OCOS).  OCOS seeks to establish community partnership between schools and churchs.   The partnerships  emphasize the value of life and learning through the shared responsibility of academic achievement, personal development, and social behavior. 

Rev. Dr. J.J. Jackson, III, is the host Presiding Elder (Houston District).  Rev. Dr. Bobby Best is the host Pastor.   

Star of Hope - Church members serve lunch at the Men's Residential Facility/Shelter.
