Children’s Worship ... K.I.D.S.

Kids in Divine Service

What is it and what do they do? Following the children’s blessing at the beginning of the 10:30 a.m. service, children and their leaders meet in the K.I.D.S. room to have their own worship time. The children are led in music and learn new songs. What is worship without music? Those who sing pray twice!  The sermon is liturgically based and offers opportunities for families to share and discuss the experience of the same gospel. The sermon in K.I.D.S. is either read by one of the adults or an older child. We encourage a lot of interaction from the children. This teaches the children to participate in worship. Sometimes this isn’t an easy task, but one our leaders meet with enthusiasm. A snack is provided (most often juice and crackers). Crafts are planned so that the children may see and experience life application of the sermon of the week. Following craft time, the children close with prayer. The cross leads our children wherever they go. Each week a different child is allowed to be the “line-leader” and bear the cross ahead of his/her group. We are blessed to have as leaders of K.I.D.S. Jennifer Herring and Caroline Pointer. Adding to the blessing are our Youth of Holy Comforter who assist in K.I.D.S.  Please pray for these leaders and Youth by name as they teach and model Jesus to our children.

Puppets are in town for Summer Youth Sunday School classes!

Fr Steve delivers a Children's Sermon the second Sunday of every month before the children leave for their own service.

The children receive their blessing.

What a wonderful group of youngsters and devoted teachers we have! We invite you to test drive our program for yourselves!!!
