THE FOLK OF ST. BARNABAS WELCOME YOU!!
Everybody is new at a Church at sometime. Many came from St. John's in Odessa for the first Sunday at St. Barnabas in 1971. But we know that each of them was new to St. John's (and each other) at some point. In the slide show above you'll see a picture of one of our newest member, Darren Catallo.
Why come to St. Barnabas? (from the slide show above) 1. All properties are on loan from God; we want carefully to handle our borrowed time to return to God as the divine is manifested thru our sons and daughters 2. We want you to find us with all "gates" open to you. 3. We are actively family with the people who are the Diocese of Northwest Texas, following the leadership of Bishop Scott Mayer. 4. We (like Mrs. Charles Stephens)want the best mission work for Northwest Texas. 5. We thank God for each new person (like Darren) who come to share their Christian life with us. 6. David Mossbarger, our priest, continues to strive for moving, good news sermons. 7.We reach out internationally by raising money for nurses and surgical-techs who have gone on medical mission trips to north-central rural Uganda thru Mecry Trips of Odessa. 8. We are 1 of 13 local churches which, quarterly, recruit volunteers to help with the meals and housing of transitional families thru Family Promise of Odessa. 9. Our Health Ministries provides an annual "Blessing of Nurses Hands" which is followed by a Churchwomen-sponsored light lunch. 10-12. Our children are on-going joyful ministers of the truth of God's very good creation. 13. And yes, there's food ... always food!
We believe that God desires all to know Him through His Son Jesus. 65% of every county in this diocese is unchurched We are learning how to get over our hesitance/fear of inviting those we know--not just our close friends--to come be a part of a living, sacramental faith in Jesus the Christ. We trust that God's desire & our action will bring the unchurched and non-churched to worship Christ in community.
Each Sunday, we ask God to give us willing lips to invite folk. We hope you find this welcome as our way of putting our feet into that prayer. We trust that your life in Christ and your ministry among us will strengthen our life in Christ. Ya'll come!!!

"Come to publicly worship!" says the author of Hebrews. We trust that this invitation comes from God. There is evidence from the Scriptures [Acts 20:7] that a weekly gathering on Sunday enlivened all in a healthy conversion-journey.
