The lessons for each Sunday are those in bold print.
There are no bold print Psalms or New Testament Lessons in Advent and Lent.
Since, as Rector, I have always added the custom of silent periods after both the Old Testament and Gospel Lessons and "made up" the time by omitting the other two.
If you're a Lector who has been assigned Lesson 2 in these seasons, please contact Meredith or Fr. David ASAP.
The red psalms indicate the care a Eucharist Minister or other should take in using the Vanderbilt RLC page to define a Psalm. The BCP version of the psalm is NOT based on traditonal verse-separation but on structuring verses to enable singing.
The blue lettered lessons indicate the slight difference between our 2007-2008 use of the BCP lectionary and our 2007-2008 use of the RCL. The orange lettered lessons indicate where the BCP lesson is entirely different from the RCL lesson.
An unused alternative lesson may be in the same column. It is indicated by "strikethrough" format.

[1] This will NOT be the Second Sunday after Christmas BUT the Feast of the Epiphany
[2] This will NOT be the Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany BUT the Last Sunday after the Epiphany (also know as “Transfiguration Sunday” or “The Last Sunday before Lent”)
[3] Remember 2008 is a leap year, so Feb. 29 is the Friday before.
[4] Easter Day cannot be earlier than March 22 or later than April 25. March 23rd is the second earliest day on which Easter may fall.
[5] You may notice in the Episcopal lectionary (it’s also true of the RCL BUT you’d need a complete RCL to tell) has an exact match between Proper 3 (used this Sunday) and the Eighth Sunday after the Epiphany so we read its lessons in either VERY long Epiphany seasons OR very early seasons after Pentecost.
For those of you who are masters of intricate lectionary trivia I’ll ask and answer the question: “If May 11th is the second earliest day Pentecost can fall on AND THUS Proper 3 is the earliest proper that can be used for the Second Sunday after Pentecost, THEN why is there a Proper 1 and a Proper 2? Answer: Following this year’s Day of Pentecost [never “Pentecost Sunday because, the Day of Pentecost, by definition IS ALWAYS a Sunday] if we have a weekday service with special lessons for neither lesser feast nor major feast, then we DO NOT use the lessons from Sunday (true for most other weeks) we would use the lessons from Proper 1. Following Trinity Sunday, if ….blah blah blah, THEN again we do not use the lessons from Sunday But the lessons from Proper 2.
Proper 1,2 & 3 of each liturgical year (A, B & C) are the only propers WITHOUT that secondary way of using an alternative Old Testament lesson (e.g., the Genesis 6:9etc lesson for Proper 4).
[6] Although, normally, there would be a subsequent proper used here, St. Barnabas will transfer St. Barnabas’ Day to this Sunday. “The feast of the Dedication of a Church, and the feast of its patron or title, may be observed on, or be transferred to, a Sunday, except in the seasons of Advent, Lent, and Easter.” (BCP p. 16)
[7] Each year, the Sunday immediately following November 1st (or November 1st itself)
[8] Which we will observe as “Christ the King” Sunday (BUT it’s the same as RCL’s “Reign of Christ” or the alternative Episcopalian name “The Last Sunday After Pentecost”)
