GALVESTON WORKDAY FOLLOWING HURRICANE IKE
A group from Faith spent the day on the Island Saturday, the 4th of October, following the hurricane of September 12-13, 2008. Devastation on the Island was widespread and the workers pictured spent the day cleaning up the mess in the building that houses the cleaning business owned by Carlos Pena, a Galveston resident and Vice-President of the ELCA. With them is pictured Bishop Mike Rinehart. Approximately 400 persons of the ELCA donated their time Saturday to help cleanup and restore Galveston.
