SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES FOR ALL AGES:
- Nursery (birth to 2 years) - Michelle Atha & Meredith Absher
- Beginners (3 years to K-5) - Mrs. Kristi Minter
- Primary Boys (1st through 3rd) - Bro. Brian Minter
- Primary Girls (1st through 3rd) - Mrs. Marie Dart
- Junior Boys (4th through 6th) - Bro. Tim Dart
- Junior Girls (4th through 6th) - Mrs. Kelli Birkett
- Teenagers (7th through 12th) - Greg & Lisa Camp
- Victory Adult Bible Class* - Pastor Rasbeary (*Meets in the auditorium.)
WORLD MISSIONS
Our church practices Faith Promise Missions. We currently help to support 24 missionaries and projects all around the world. We also have missionary guests regularly throughout the year.
BUS MINISTRY
Our church bus picks up children, teenagers, and adults in Wylie, Sachse, and Garland and brings them to Sunday School. The bus runs every Sunday year-round. The bus captain is Bro. Bob Petchulat. The bus driver is CDL-licensed and there are plenty of adult helpers on the bus.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH
We have a wonderful Children’s Church during the morning service. They meet upstairs for children’s songs, games, and lessons.
SOUL-WINNING
Every week, our trained soul-winners are out in the communities around our church, visiting people from Richardson to Fate, Garland to Murphy, Sachse to Lavon, trying to win lost souls to Christ. In the last five years, we have visited more than 60,000 homes in our area.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR
For children 3 years old through the sixth grade. The children’s choir practices each Sunday night at 5:30 P.M.
MUSIC MINISTRY
Our music ministry is led by Bro. Greg Camp. Our music is old-fashioned and Biblical. We do not and will not adopt the worldly or contemporary-styled services that many churches have adopted.
NURSERY MINISTRY
Our nursery ladies take care of the little ones during the services. All of our nursery workers are experienced ladies. The nursery is for babies and toddlers from birth through their third birthday.
ANNUAL YOUTH CAMPS AND CONFERENCE
We attend two Camps each summer: Senior Camp (7th-12th grade) and Junior Camp (4th-7th grade). We also attend the annual Youth Conference hosted at the Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas.
GYM NIGHTS AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Twice a month we have a “gym night” after the Sunday evening service. It is a great time for the church family to have some fun together. We also have many other events scheduled for the families throughout the year, including our Memorial Day Picnic, Father/Child Cookout, Mother’s Day Banquet, and family Christmas Party.

Our music ministry is led by Bro. Greg Camp and his wife, Lisa. Bro. Camp is our songleader and Mrs. Camp is our pianist. They also oversee special music and our children's choir pictured below. Bro. & Mrs. Camp are both graduates of Hyles-Anderson College and have been members of LBC since 2002. They also lead our teenage Sunday School class.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST CHURCH OF WYLIE, TEXAS On October 1, 2000, the first services were held for the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Wylie, Texas, with 11 in attendance. The Lighthouse Baptist Church was started as a mission church out of the Trinity Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas, pastored by Dr. Bob W. Smith. In August of 2000, the Trinity Baptist Church licensed and ordained James Michael Rasbeary, and in September sent he and his wife, Amanda, and their two daughters, Elisabeth and Rebekah, to start this new church. The Rasbeary's purpose was to start a new church built on old-fashioned Bible preaching, old-fashioned services, old-fashioned music, old-fashioned Sunday School, and an old-fashioned Baptist position. On August 1, 2001, the Lighthouse Baptist Church officially organized into an independent Baptist Church with 37 charter members. The Lighthouse Baptist Church leased and then purchased the property of the former Wylie Church of God. The property included an auditorium, a two-story Sunday School building, a gymnasium, and 2.6 acres of land. This property was purchased on October 1, 2001, on the church's one-year anniversary. |
