As we launch out into deep waters with the Men's International Network of Dallas (MIND), I want to welcome all men to this new vision for the men of Dallas, Texas, and beyond.
In the twenty-first century, we are seeing men under increasing attack. What used to be a clear-cut definition has become cloudy. Many men have lost their way, questioning every aspect of what it means to be a man. What does it mean to be a father? How do I treat females? I don't understand my body. Why do I feel like this? Where do these feelings come from. What about my sexuality? How can I be successful in today's business world? The questions go on and on.
The vision and assignment of MIND is to help men: young and old, to cope with the challenges we all face in the world today. We are planning to have empowerment sessions, where businessmen will have the opportunity to network and promote their gifts and talents to other men. We will meet to share experiences; how to deal with the issues we are confronted with daily, and possible plans of attack that bring the kind of positive results we all desire. Each man will have the opportunity to participate in these sessions as much or as little as they feel comfortable. There will be opportunities for each of us to experience new avenues of sports and other activities of interest to men. In essence, we will grow physically, spiritually, financially and in every other way, as we come together and share life's challenges, joys and victories.
While MIND is a Christian-based organization, these sessions won?t be just another church meeting. We will have men successful in the fields of business, medicine, finance and other areas of concern, as well as spiritual, to come in to share with us strategies for success to propel us beyond where we are to heights we have only dreamed of reaching.
I want to invite each man reading this to come out to our sessions and bring as many other men, including your sons, to these exciting meetings. You will be glad you did.
