Dr. Charles Hughes knew early that he had a call on his life. After graduating from high school and joining the Navy, he thought that he could “out-run” God and dismiss the call altogether. However, God had different plans. Dr. Charles would have to walk out his life’s destiny -- to preach the Gospel throughout the nations!
In 1993, Dr. Charles was ordained into the Gospel ministry, along with his mate for life - Dr. Vera Hughes. He has worked in the ministry for over eleven years serving faithfully as Senior Pastor of Living Water Bible Church, (now Good Samaritan Ministries which includes future plans for Oasis International Church) founded in 1996. His ministerial training includes graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center a.k.a. Kenneth Hagin Ministries in Pastoral Ministry.
In 2004, Dr Charles Hughes was honored with a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Bellgrove Theological Seminary located in Baton Rogue, Louisiana. This doctorate was bestowed due to his contributions to the humanities, community, and impact on society as a whole.
Dr. Charles has expanded the vision into more emphasis on outreach through "Beyond the Walls" ministry. The overall vision includes a fully accredited Bible college, ministry complex which will include residential homes, youth center, recreational facilities, Christian school, medical facilities, shopping, office complex, bible college with dorms, and youth entrepreneur program.
Dr. Charles teaches practical and timely messages to enable persons to walk in integrity and mold their character after God. He also provides counseling and wisdom to individuals as well as couples facing marriage crisis. Dr Charles has a heart for men to come into their purpose and destiny for the family and finding their purpose.
A “father” to many in the ministry, Dr. Charles has imparted Godly wisdom to others in understanding the need for character, integrity, and honor. He has an apostolic anointing and has ordained and licensed several persons into the Gospel ministry: Pastors Dennis (late) and Gwendolyn Stone - Fort Washington, MD; Reverend Ivery Bradley - Dallas, Texas; Reverend Isabel Mhene - Dallas Texas; Reverend Ernestine Dixon - Tarboro, North Carolina; and licensed many other persons into the Gospel ministry. He is also a “father” to many persons in Africa, Central America, India, and throughout the United States.
Dr. Charles has appeared on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and Dallas Cable Television. He has also co-hosted with his wife a radio ministry broadcast, The Winning Formula broadcasted over KSKY 660 AM in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Charles Hughes recently wrote the epilogue to Dr. Vera Hughes highly acclaimed book, "From the Gates of Hell to the Gates of Glory". In this chapter, he tells how you can stand on the sidelines but still be in the fight when someone you know is sick or dying.
Dr. Charles recently started the Men's International Network of Dallas (MIND). The goal of MIND is to bring men into the image of Jesus through instruction of the Word of God, through fellowship, through the dissimulation of other types of information of interest to men, and other forms of activities.
Dr. Charles is the proud father of two children, Lynnette and Darrell, and the joy of his heart is his granddaughter -- Destinee.
