Abundant Life Holiness Church of Tyler, TX

If I Were The Devil

If I were the Devil I would not come to Christians boldly and openly, for they would recognize me if I did that. I would know that the Church usually thrives under persecution and falls asleep during prosperity. While they were asleep I would trick them through subtlety (2 Cor. 11:3). I would know that the best way to corrupt churches is from the inside out, so I would place my servants strategically in the churches.

My first attack would be against the true shepherds. If I could get rid of those who genuinely watch out for the flock I could then have a field day in the Church. To accomplish this I would deceive men into accepting a "Clergy/Laity" system (which God hates - Rev 2:6,15) that requires one to be "educated" before he can be a pastor. I would then teach the people not to question this so called "man of God" because they have not been to Bible college. Then I would set up "pastors" over the churches who do not care for the flock but only for their own position and name before men.

Then as people are captivated with the eloquence, education and charisma of their teachers, I will bring in a flood of lies through these hirelings! By the end of this attack, some important truths will have come to be known as heresy and some damnable heresies will come to be accepted as sound evangelical doctrine. Once 'I have accomplished this, the heaps of teachers (2 Tim. 4:3) will continually reinforce my lies (Jer. 14:14) through Christian radio, TV, and myriads of books. Oh, how easy it will then become to convince most Christians that to obey Jesus and His words is optional after salvation! I will teach them that all they have to do is say a sinner's prayer one time in their life for salvation. I will accomplish this by quoting only certain verses out of context. I.E. Romans 10:9-10) These Christians will actually think that they are believing the Bible, not realizing that they are trusting in a false (Jude 1 :4) type of grace that says they can sin and get to heaven as long as they have" accepted Christ."

I would make sure that holy and obedient followers of Jesus are viewed as legalists and I will falsely accuse them of trying to gain their salvation by works. Then, whenever a Christian comes in contact with one of those wholehearted ones who loves God, and shows it by his obedience, I can whisper to them, "He is only a legalist," and their conscience will not be bothered anymore if they heed my whisper.

Few will challenge the sin in the Church by the time I am done with my work, for the Christians' minds will be so confused they will think that to expose and challenge sin is "judgmental" and "unloving." Through the heaps of teachers, most will be convinced that the Church must be "a people friendly church," and one that "doesn't make sinners feel condemned." Once truth has been cast to the ground (Dan. 8:12), many abominations will become accepted in Christendom. The Christian women will throwaway all restraint and will seduce many Christian men by their immodest dress and adulterous spirit. The men will not restrain them for they have "eyes full of adultery." (2 Pet. 2:[4.).

The "Christian" homes will be broken because the women will leave their place and the men will encourage them to do so. The children will be rebellious because parents will be ignorant of how to train them. The Christians will be "vexed with the filthy conversation (lifestyle) of the wicked" (2 Pet. 2:7) as they behold it each night on their TV. They will feel justified in idolizing wicked sports figures, running after the pleasures of this life, following after money and many other unlawful things will they do, and be encouraged to do by their teachers' example.

Oh, how successful I would be! For those that do not love God and His truth enough to care, they will "neglect their salvation" (Hebrews 2:3). They will think they can love the world and God at the same time and still make it to Heaven, not knowing that I am tricking them into becoming enemies of God. (See [ I Jn. 2:15; James 4:4)

But since I am not the devil, but a follower of Jesus,

I will warn believers in Jesus that the devil is wise and has done exactly as was stated above and much more. I will call God's people to repent of their worldliness, HALFHEARTED LOVE FOR GOD, uncleanness and lukewarmness before they are vomited out of the mouth of Jesus Christ to be forever rejected. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (Rev. 3:16)

I will warn them to "Walk in the light lest darkness come upon you" (John 12:35).

I will call believers of Jesus to come out of their powerless (American) form of Christianity and put them in remembrance of the words of the apostle Paul who said, "Having a form of godliness, .but denying the power thereof from such turn 'away." (2 Timothy 3:5)

I will invite them to: "come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the lord, and touch not the unclean thing: and I will receive you, And will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the lord Almighty.” (2Cor 6:11,18)

I will remind my brothers and sisters constantly that if they want to see God they must diligently turn from this wicked world. "The lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness,' .but is longsuffering to us-ward (us Christians), not willing that any (of us Christians) should perish but that all should come to repentance. (Repentance is a present tense action verb).

"But the day of the lord shall come as a thief in the night. in that which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye (Christian) to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of Cod, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.” (2 Pet. 3:9-14)

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." (Rev. 3:13 )

Repent!!! “And what I say unto you I say unto all Watch.” (Mark 13:37)

Hebrews 5:9 “..he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”
