An Important Note About Lakeside Hosting Michael Card In Concert

While it is not unusual to sell tickets for an event such as this, the Elders want to see if perhaps Lakeside can offer this concert of ministry and outreach as a Thanksgiving gift to our community, and underwrite the fees and expenses ourselves.  If you would like to help underwrite our hosting Michael Card (Fees and expenses = $7,000), please clearly mark any contribution “Michael Card Concert Fund”.

I will give You thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise You. Praise God in the great congregation” Psalm 35:18  and Psalm 68:26

On Sunday morning, November 22, we will participate in worship by giving testimonies of thanks and praise to GOD. You are encouraged to come prepared to bless your brethren by a word of how God has blessed you, giving thanks and praise to HIM. A couple of guidelines:

Please aim for about a 3 minute testimony, so others may have an opportunity to share. The whole church benefits when many participate.

Let your sharing be directed to giving glory to God!  As the hymn writer has said: “Give HIM the glory, great things He hath done”.

To The Loving Congregation of Lakeside Presbyterian Church: Thank You!

From Assistant Pastor Rich Boyd and KristiKristi and I are extremely thankful for your generosity!  1 Thessalonians 3:9-  “How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?”  Serving as your Assistant Pastor is a tremendous honor!   We cherish your friendship, we value your encouragement, and we love being a part of this wonderful congregation!

From Pastor Boxerman and Donna Joy-Thank you all so much for your generous gift as an expression of appreciation. To us, it feels much more like yet another expression of your appreciation, because we receive such encouragement from you all each and every week… and usually daily! Our prayer is for God to bless you, as much as He has us by you all.

Thanksgiving Day Food, Bible and Blanket Distribution to The Needy and Homeless

The Lakeside Young Adults (and all others interested) will spend Thanksgiving afternoon distributing a hot meal, Bibles and blankets in downtown Ft. Worth. To help—bring a cooked, ham, turkey, side dish, or wrap up your leftovers and bring them to the church. Plates will be made up here and given out at 2:30 PM.

An Official Resolution Entered Into The Record Of Your North Texas Presbytery

"To our brothers and sisters of Lakeside Presbyterian Church of Southlake,

We of the 100th Stated Meeting of the North Texas Presbytery, offer our sincere appreciation to you. We thank you for your willingness to open your hearts and your church home to us. The hospitality and ministry shown to us during our time here is a great encouragement and wonderful demonstration of love. Thank you for reminding us of things as simple as delightful sausage breakfast casseroles, muffins, and the increase of restrooms for your brothers, that through such things is the love we are called to have for one another, lived out; the kind of love that is a testimony to the watching world. May the Lord richly bless you and keep you and continue to gather and equip His saints through you for the work of service."

Lakeside received many such expressions of gratitude for our service to the brothers and sisters of our North Texas Presbytery. It literally took our entire congregation to host this meeting, and your service is sincerely appreciated. Some who indeed deserve recognition are: Linda Anderson, hospitality hostess (served and set out the yummy food that all of you contributed); Dave Musil (lots of extra Deacon stuff, including ramp for our needed overflow parking); our audio guys—Mark Hasler, Jim Harper and Fred Janis, and all of the Lakeside musicians: Howard Hilliard, Barbara Hallman, Margaret Harper, Cindy Hauser, Jenni Levey, Curt Curtis, and Bob Hilker for their extra hours of practice and their assistance in the Presbytery’s Friday evening worship. There are so many more of you who also contributed time and effort. Thank you all!!
