Dear Retama Park Family,

           Paul declares in 2 Timothy 3:1 “In the last days perilous times will come.  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents,

unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,…

This sounds like reading current news about the attitudes and actions of men in the day in which we live.  These are truly perilous times.  The Revised version says “times filled with stress”. There are many who are experiencing a new level of stress in their lives because of the times.  You may be one of them.

Please let me encourage you today, that although it is absolutely true that we are living in perilous (stressful) times, we can find hope, rest, and peace in the Lord.  He said “Come unto Me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” Matt. 11:28.  Perilous (stressful) conditions weigh heavy on the hearts of many to whom Jesus calls.  He says I can give you rest.  I can strengthen you if you will only come in faith to me.  Jesus says trust me in your circumstances and problems and all the heavy weights of your life.  Jesus will help carry your load and give you the rest and peace you seek.
