 Wow! What an awesome community of faith we belong to. When I got the end of year financials for our church, it was amazing what you had done. Your great faith in God has led us to our best year ever. Here are some of our accomplishments: 9 persons were received on Profession of Faith in Christ; 15 other persons transferred their membership from other churches making our total membership 423.
We also served Christ by helping other people: We fed five families at Thanksgiving and Christmas but throughout the year we provided meals for several of our neighbors through Meals on Wheels. Now before you say that is only 6-10 people look at this: 39 volunteers provided 2286 meals for those neighbors. That translates into 1362 person work days to prepare and deliver meals. We also collected and sent to Caritas 843 pounds of food for the hungry in Waco, and we also filled two trailers with clothing to be sent to the Orphanage in Mexico in conjunction with First Baptist Church. Not only did we continue to grow in membership and in service, but we added staff in 2007 and you met the challenge with over $200,000 in tithes and offerings. This does not count the Harvest Festival, the Golf Tournament or any memorials or gifts to the Building Fund. Add all that up and we gave God a little over $275,000 through the ministry of this church and of that amount we gave away a large amount for missions. This year will be even greater. We have already started collecting suitcases for foster kids, formula for infants in Iraq, and clothing for the Orphanage in Mexico. |
