Labels for Education

Granger Christian Church has been saving Campbell labels for many years. We use them to support the Woodhaven Learning Center, Inc. in Columbia, MO. Woodhaven provides residential care for adults who are mentally retarded/developmentally disabled. They provide supported-employment; personal, social and community service.

Frenchy Bowers has been our "label lady" for many years. She collects the labels and cuts them to their proper size. Making bundles of 500 tied with white string she prepares them to be mailed. She usually mails 1000 at at time, using her own money to cover postage.

In previous years, our labels (along with labels from many other groups) have helped by mini vans to transport the residents of Woodhaven.

You may put your labels in the new collection box in the narthex. There are also detailed lists available so you will know what labels to save.

THE ROAD HOME SHELTER

The Road Home supports displaced men, women, and families. There is always a need for underwear and socks of all sizes. Blankets are always needed too.

Remember that those in need are most often on the streets and out in the weather come rain or shine. It is the practice of the Road Home to furnish at least two pair of socks to each person, that way if one pair gets wet they can be changed to a dry pair.
