A contract for sanctuary carpet has been signed with Church Interiors of High Point, North Carolina.  Church Interiors specializes in sanctuary renovations including carpet, pews, cushions, stained glass windows, etc. and have experience in removing and replacing pews.  The purchased carpet is a 42 oz, commercial, nylon cut and loop carpet.  The carpet will be green with two complimentary shades of green – one color for the altar area and a second color for the congregational area.  Choir risers will also be carpeted.  Installation is scheduled to begin the afternoon of Monday, October 15 and be completed by Friday, October 19.  Carpet installation should not interfere with our Sunday worships.  Church Interiors will be responsible for moving pews, the piano, and the communion tables.

However, a team of 6 to 8 volunteers will be needed to assist in preparation of the sanctuary for carpet installation (removing hymnals, bibles, chairs, etc.) and then to return the sanctuary to a worship configuration after installation.  More information on that in a later update.

The congregation approved the Current Operating and Capital Improvements budgets at the May 20th congregational meeting.

Capital Improvements Budget:   $276,070 (97% pledged)

Current Operating Budget:          $164,435

Both budgets were unanimously approved.  Operating budget is 2.4 % less than last years budget and $10,000 less than planned during the Stewardship Campaign.
