You trained, you fought, were never outdone.
Now battles are over, your service is done.
Forgotten, hurting, you shuffle along
With no one to thank you – or sing your song.
An unsung hero – risked all you had -
In Europe, Korea, Vietnam or Baghdad.
Without your courage, I could not freely walk
In the face of danger, you refused to balk!
Without your courage I would not be free!
Today I thank you for your gift to me.
You’re My Unsung Hero!
