Sharon Congregational Church, United Church of Christ
No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!

The Sharon Food Shelf is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7PM and it serves the wider community by providing fresh produce, meats, canned and staple goods, breads and household items for those within our community who are struggling to make ends meet. There are several opportunities to participate in this ministry from helping to break down the VT Food Bank order and stocking shelves to staffing the times when the Shelf is open.

Please leave a message at the church offie for Carole Sheldon, our Food Shelf coordinator, to be a part of this vital ministry.  802-763-2007

The Sharon Food Shelf is located at The Lighthouse, across the street from the church building, in the back portion of the first floor.

Sharon Neighbors

The Sharon Neighbors program is a network of people in our community who make themselves available to help with a variety of needs. From being available to drive people to appointments to stacking firewood, helping with winterizing and offering child or elder respite care, this is an opportunity for us to love our neighbors as ourselves through serving each other in small but meaningful ways.

Please contact the church office and leave a message for Lynn Wermager, the Sharon Neighbors Coordinator, for more information about this ministry or if you know someone who could use a little help. 802-763-2007

Sharon Share - A member of the New England Serve program

Sharon Share is a membership based food program that requires a small number of community service hours each month for all member families. Each month you submit your community service hours and are then eligable to order meal packages at a substantially discounted price. There are any number of service type opportunities that qualify.

If you are interested in this please call the church office and leave a message for Loretta Cruz, the Sharon Share Coordinator. 802-763-2007

Teach Sunday School!

This year we will be using the Godly Play curriculum, a Montessori based program that uses story telling and "wondering" as a way to teach the bible stories and invite the kids (and adults!) into theological reflection on what the story means.  Each story is told through the use of props that are kept in a "story box" just for that story and the young people learn the stories over the year and eventually are able to tell them to others!

The "story tellers" have a helper each week and this is a great opportunity to get to know the young people in the church and grow along with them.  If you are interested in learning a story and sharing it on a Sunday please contact the church office and the Pastor will contact you about what the requirements are. 802-763-2007
