  Service Project Ideas

Each Care Group is responsible to identify and schedule a "Service Project" to reach out to our community or to the watching world.  The focus is to put feet to our words and to our study of the Word of God in service to others.  Below is a list of a few options for service projects.  If you have other ideas your group would like to propose, please check in so we can celebrate what you are accomplishing.

 LOCAL

Habitat for Humanity - Habitat in Bremerton plans periodic "Blitz Build" to frame and enclose a house over a few days.  These projects can always use help.  For more information about volunteering, call Barbara at 479-3853.  If interested, make contact with Pastor Ron or Floyd Bright.

Benedict House Men's Shelter - Serve meals each night for one week.  Contact Pastor Ron or Pastor Ric for additional details

DD-Fun Day - Assist wih SWBC's ministry to developmentally disable meal and fun day. held one Saturday each quarter of the year.

Adopt a Highway-SWCS - Sylvan Way Christan School has adopted a stretch of highway for clean-up.  They struggle to keep up with the project and could use a Care Group to assist with that project.  Contact Judy Belcher at the school for more informaiton.

Spring Clean-up - Our "Seniors" and disabled in our community need help with yard and home projects during the year.

Church Projects - there are always major project at the church that can use "special attention."  If you want to know of a few, feel free to check in with the church office, Trustees, or your Pastors.

Children's Harvest Carnival - Held each Fall.

Angel Breakfast - one of the largest outreach events of SWBC - reaching some 400 kids and parents.  Held early in the Christmas season.  Many volunteers are needed to operate this event.  Call Becky Kaston to volunteer.
