The Christian Education Program

St. Boniface has an active and growing Sunday School program for children ages 2 years through high school, plus adult classes.

Pre-Juniors
For our youngest members, toddlers through kindergarten, we use a very adaptable curriculum called Hands On Bible by Group publishers. Flexibility is a key component so that our leaders are available for children during the Sunday services as well as the regularly-scheduled Sunday school hour.
On any given Sunday, children are involved in Bible stories, crafts, snacks, and play. At times, they also view Veggie Tales tapes on topics such as selfishness, trust, forgiveness, and sharing.

Junior Worship
Kindergarten through first grade
Each Sunday, the children will be presented with curriculum designed to coincide with the church year. Arts and crafts are also introduced that relate to the specific Sunday school lesson.

Senior Worship
Second and third grades
While the topic matter is the same as Junior Worship and GAP, the Senior Worship curriculum is designed to cover more advanced material. Included in the curriculum are take home cards for memory verses and puzzle sheets.
Since our Sunday school classes run in two year cycles, we have found that during the second year of Senior Worship it is an ideal time to present the Early Communion curriculum with Father Jay instructing. This runs approximately 6-8 weeks and requires parental participation.
During this two year program the children will be introduced to the Acolyte program. Those who are interested can then serve during our church services.

GAP
Fourth and fifth grades
The GAP class also follows the ECC curriculum. These students additionally receive a weekly copy of the Community Times, a newspaper-formatted instructional aid covering age-related information. This group also participates in a weekend-long winter retreat as well as several other outside activities throughout the year.

Rite-13
Sixth and seventh grades
The Rite-13 curriculum assists young people as they take the first steps of passage away from their families and into their own lives. During the two year program, each student will be given the opportunity to experience a liturgical celebration of the gift of womanhood and manhood. This liturgy celebrates the amazing creative power and potential of these young people. Classroom time, various outside activities and youth retreats create a safe haven to explore new ideas, new interest and new abilities.

J2A
Eighth and ninth grades
Journey to Adulthood (J2A) is the core program that blends action and contemplation in teaching young people faithful living. Through classroom time, various outside activities and retreats, students learn six basic skills in preparation for adulthood: Active listening, negotiation, assertion, research/information management, partnership and leadership.
The program also helps them understand and affirm Christian living. After two years they are acknowledged in the community as equipped for new levels of responsibility. They are recognized as adults, rather than children, and invited to make a holy pilgrimage.

YAC
Tenth grade and up
Young Adults in the Church (YAC) encourages older youth to take on adult responsibilities in all aspects of parish life and the community. They are given the opportunity to study for Confirmation and become good stewards of their time, talent and treasure. Guided by adult advisers, they use the Anglican model of Scripture, reason and tradition of the Church to guide the lifelong pilgrimage in their faith.

Adult
Several adult education programs are held during the course of the year. Women’s and men's bible study groups meet on a regular basis. Please contact the church office (262-242-2994) for additional information.
