IN THE CITY FOR GOOD

We are all storytellers.  God created us that way.  The bible is full of stories, and our own personal stories help us connect our lives with God’s story.  As Christians, we believe that all our stories are bound together, and that each one of us contributes to the ongoing story of God’s faithful people.  As we seek to lift up and nurture one another, your Parish Life Committee is introducing an emphasis on the Christian life with “Stories to Tell and Gifts to Share”.

Jesus told stories every day and He was so giving of himself.  He had many gifts and He shared them everywhere he went.  As followers of Christ each of us has a story to tell and a gift to share.  We are to reflect Jesus’ love and share the gifts He has so lovingly given us.  Telling your story about living your faith in your every day life and sharing your gifts is just one way of working to build up the body of Christ.

Old and young alike, we want to hear your story how God has touched your life.  Share your faith story.  We want to hear a shinning moment, a challenging time, a faith journey, a thankful moment, a lesson you learned, an angel moment, a thankful gift, a miracle, your baptism or confirmation, an accident, a sad story, a humorous story, a relative, a tragedy, whatever is your story.  We would like you to prayerfully consider sharing your story as a temple talk or written down for the monthly newsletter or Sunday bulletin.  In your very living you share a faith story.  AS you think about your life,, you’ll see how many gifts you’ll receive from the loving Lord and how many stories you could tell.  As we are reminded in Luke 8:39, “Declare how much God has done for you.”

Talk to a Parish Life member—Polly Eastberg, Eleanor Block, Earl Walter, Darrell Smith, Callie Moylan, Tina Kurth, Pastor Donna.  Tell us your story!

The first faith story was written by Pastor Phetsamone in the March Messenger and the second story by Pastor Donna in our April Messenger.  Anticipate another story in the June Messenger.

May this emphasis on Stories to Tell and Gifts to Share inspire us to be better stewards of our time, talents, and treasures and give us a deepend relationship with Christ and with each other.
