How many times have you tried to change and failed?
For change to be real and for it to last, it must begin with your heart, your inner self. Real and permanent change of heart includes change of mind and it results in change of life.
Only God can change your heart, your mind and your life. The means that God has chosen to change the human heart is His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Bible says,
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
It doesn't matter what you've done or how bad you've been in the past. The past, with all its guilt, is all gone, as God forgives you of all your sins and cleanses your heart. When you trust in Jesus Christ, you will be born anew, your heart and life will be changed. You will find true love, joy, peace, meaning and fulfillment in Christ. Asking Jesus Christ to change you involves the following:
- Believe. "I believe that Jesus died for my sins on the cross and rose from the dead, so that God can forgive my sins."
"To those who believed on His name, He gave the right to become the children of God."
John 1:12
- Confess. "I need to change, but I am a sinner, and I cannot change myself. Only God through Christ can change me."
- Repent. "I do not want to live in sin and continue to break God's laws. I am turning away from sin, and I am turning to God."
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
Romans 3:23
- Accept Jesus As Your Personal Savior Today! "I am ready to invite Jesus Christ into my heart to save me and change me."
"If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:19
- Receive the gift. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ." Romans 6:23
- Go through the door. "I am the door; he that enters through Me will be saved." John 10:9
- Coming home. "Let's feast and celebrate... for this son of mine was lost and now is found." Luke 15:23-24
Pray. Give your heart to Jesus Christ right now, so He can change you forever. You can pray something like this:

Dear God, I am a sinner. I have sinned against you. I need You to forgive me. I believe that You love me and sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins. Dear Jesus, please come into my heart and cause me to be born again. Change my heart and take over my life. From this day forward, I will trust You, obey You and follow You, as my Savior and Lord. I ask this favor in Jesus' name. Amen.
The Good News.
"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."
I John 5:11-12
If you prayed that prayer straight from your heart, God heard you, and He has changed your heart in the spiritual realm. That change will soon begin to show in all areas of your life. Right now, you are a spiritual baby who needs to grow up spiritually.
For you to grow in Christ, do the following:
- Read your Bible daily. (We recommend the New King James translation of the Bible.) For your spiritual needs, reading the Bible is like "eating".
- Pray daily. Praying is like "breathing". When you pray, you are talking to God.

- Testify. Tell someone about what you have done and what has just happened to you. Tell others that Christ can change their lives also.
- Attend church weekly. Find a church where they teach and preach the Bible. Consider the church your spiritual family.
- Love others and do good deeds. In a world full of needy people and some very mean people, you now represent the love and kindness of Jesus Christ. Find ways to serve and help others in need. If you have hurt others in the past, go settle matters with them, as God gives you the strength.
