What sets our Preschool apart?
We had the option of joining the WI 4k program in Waukesha, but chose to continue opperating as our own independent preschool. It is a priority to us to share the love of Jesus with the children and families who enter our building.
Christ the Life Preschool program
- Christian faith is incorporated throughout the day
- Age appropriate Bible stories are taught weekly
- Tuition based; very affordable
- Preschool teachers trained in Early Childhood Education
- Teachers hold a valid teaching license for educating preschool aged children
- Before and after school childcare is available in our building
- 4 year old classes are 3 hours a day, Mon-Wed-Friday. Morning and afternoon classes are available.
- 3 year old classes are 3 hours a day, Tues. & Thurs. Morning and afternoon classes are available
- Indoor gym used to develop large motor skills and play interactive games
- Large, secure, outside play area
- We offer both male and female teachers
- Our program has been in place since 1996
- Curriculum designed to prepare children for Kindergarten
Waukesha 4k:
- Jesus is not taught
- Public school is free
- Teachers may have Early childhood training*
- Teachers may hold a regular teaching license*
- Childcare will only be available at 4k programs that are offered at off campus childcare centers
- Some centers do not have an indoor gym
- Some centers do not have large grassy areas for outside play
- Waukesha 4k starts September, 2009
- Curriculum designed to prepare children for Kindergarten
- Classes are taught 2 ½ hours a day, 5 days a week
*Waukesha is not the first district in our area to offer a 4k program. There are not currently enough teachers trained in Early Childhood Education available to fill all of the teaching positions for the 4k program. Some teachers may hold their emergency teaching license, available to anyone with a 4-year degree. This license is valid for 3 years. Please ask about teacher qualifications when you get information about any program. Does the teacher have a Major or Minor in Early Childhood Education? Does the teacher hold a valid, regular teaching license? What grades is the teacher licensed to teach?
Our main goal at Christ the Life is to provide the best education possible for students. We do this by creating hands on, discovery based, thematic units. Some of our most popular themes include Outer Space, Under the Sea, and Dinosaurs. We use genuine children's literature as we plan our lessons. Sensory art is used to help children create memories at a young age. Science is incorporated into the units, so that the children begin to learn the scientific process and develop a sense of wonder about the world around them.
