Stewardship and the Sanctuary Renovation Fund: Are they the same?
The two-part Stewardship system that was enacted many years ago is still in place and has not changed. It simply was designed to fulfill the following purposes:
Part I: Operational Expenses
Salaries
Administration costs
Church and Office Supplies
Utilities
Archdiocesan and Metropolis Assessments
Part II: Building Conservation ( BCF )
Elevator replacement Loan
Maintenance and Repairs (ie boiler, roof, plumbing)
Small Capital Improvements (ie carpet, paint)
Members in good standing are required to make annual pledges to the funds listed above which are necessary to operate and maintain our church on a daily basis.
Sanctuary Renovation Fund ( SRF)
The onset of the Sanctuary renovations required a "special projects" fund to be created.
This is a short-term fund envisioned to provide large amounts of money to be raised in five years; specifically for the purpose of renovating the Sanctuary utilizing named categories of recognized giving. Once these funds are raised, the SRF will be retired.
The mechanism will be resurrected when and, if another special project is necessary to be implemented.
So in essence, Stewardship and Sanctuary Renovations are different but their end result is the same: To support the mission of the church and perpetuation of the faith.
Signed,
Your Stewardship and Renovation Committees
