The way to be ready for Heaven is easy.  You can't "do" anything to earn it, because none of us deserves this great gift.  However, read the following and pray the prayer, and you can become a follower of Christ right now. 

ABC's of Salvation

We must admit we have sinned.

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23, NIV).

Jesus died on the cross so we wouldn't have to die. He took our place in dying, then was resurrected, and ascended to heaven where He watches over us and prays for us. All He asks us to do to receive salvation is believe on Him.

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31, NIV).

We only need to tell Jesus that we have sinned, then He will forgive us. Every sin we have ever committed can be forgiven.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins" (1 John 1:9, NIV).

Now, pray this prayer:

     Father God, I realize my need of a Savior to forgive my sins.  I believe Christ is the son of God and came to die on the cross for my salvation.

     Forgive my sins and make me clean through Christ's blood.  I am truly sorry for my sins.

     I accept forgiveness and cleansing.  I accept Christ as my personal Savior.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will live for Jesus, forsaking my sins, and will follow His teachings.

     Thank You for forgiving me and cleansing me.  Thank You that I am now a child of God--a Christian. 

     Next, write down the date you became a Christian.________________________

Finally, begin reading your Bible.  Begin with the Book of John.  Pray every day and attend a Bible believing church.  It's that simple.  You are ready for Heaven!
