Angel Food Ministries Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. The program began with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia in 1994, and has grown to serve tens of thousands of families across the country. Angel Food Ministries crosses all denominational lines and has spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each box of food. Angel Food's groceries are sold by the box at $30per unit. Each month's menu consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. One box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store - it is not damaged or out-dated goods. There is no limit to the number of boxes an individual can purchase and there are no applications or qualifications. Because Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit organization, purchased food donated to someone in need may be fully tax-deductible as a charitable donation. Food sales and distribution are handled by church host sites - in Morgan County, First United Methodist Church at 49 South Green Street. Orders and payments are accepted at the church on Thursday mornings 10 am - noon and Saturday mornings 9-11 am. Payment in cash, USDA EBT Card, or by Postal or bank Money Order must be made when placing orders (receipts are provided). Pick-up information is available at the time of ordering and can also be found on the church's Internet calender. More information, including current and upcoming menus may be found here.
