About Your Web Site Status

PENDING STATUS

When a new website is created, it is automatically in a pending status. The purpose of this status is to allow you to preview the tool’s capabilities, to confirm your email address, and to confirm that you want to build a Web site.

While a website is in a Pending Status, the following limitations are imposed:

  • The site is not visible to the public

  • The site is visible only to the website creator for the duration of the initial login session. During this session, they have access to all the functionality available to a website editor (in Preview and Edit mode), but upon logout, items created or edits are not saved, and the website is no longer editable.

ACTIVE STATUS

A website changes to an Active Status when the site creator responds to the email confirmation link sent to their email. As long as the site is changed at least once every 60 days, either by the site creator or by other editors added to the Site Editors list, the site will remain in an Active Status.

ACTIVE-ALERT STATUS

If you haven’t logged in within 60 days, we will email you to make sure you’re still using the Web Builder tool. It’s good to keep your content fresh so your church members will check back frequently as well!

At this point, you can either log in and make changes, or click on the “Yes, I want to keep my site active,” link.

INACTIVE STATUS

If a Web site has not been changed in a total of 90 days, it will enter the Inactive Status. At this point, an email will be sent out to the email address of all the site editors notifying them of the website’s status. The editor can choose to either log in to reactivate the site, or retire it.

While a Web site is in an Inactive Status, no limitations will be placed in terms of end-user or editor activity. However, when editors logs into the website, they will be prompted to reactivate the site.

If you have misplaced your original email alert, you can have it re-sent to you email address by logging into the web site and clicking on the “Click here to receive activation instructions” link at the top of the page.

SUSPENDED STATUS

If you do not re-activate your site within 30 days of being in the Inactive Status, the website will go into a Suspended Status.

When a website reaches the Suspended Status, an email will be sent out to all the site editors notifying them of the site's status.

When a site is in the Suspended Status, it will contain a public message at the top of your site, saying that the website has a Suspended Status and to contact the editors to reactivate it. To re-activate your site and get rid of the public message, you can click on the “Click here to re-activate your site” link on the site after login, or click on the confirmation link sent to you in the email notification.

If you misplace your original email notification, you can have it re-sent to you email address by logging into the site and clicking on the “Click here to receive activation instructions” link at the top of the page.

RETIRED STATUS

A site can enter this Status one of two ways:

  • You decided to retire your site by clicking on a “retire site” link.

  • If a site remains in Suspended Status for 30 days without being reactivated.
In this Status, your site will be unavailable, and we will put a message on the website to contact us. All your Web site's content will still be archived for 30 days, should you decide to reactivate it.

When a Web site enters the Retired Status, an email will be sent out to all the site editors explaining what triggered this status. You will have to contact ForMinistry Support to reactivate your site.

DELETED

If, after 30 days in the Retired Status, no one contacts us to reactivate the site, the site and its contents, your username, password, and email address will be DELETED, and we will downgrade your site to a listing in our church directory.
