Dear Church Family,
It was good to come back into town and be in church Sunday morning.The greatest pleasure of all was to be here to see Wesley Bott come forward and publicly confess his faith in Jesus Christ and be baptized at the end of the morning service.It is exciting to think what might lie ahead of a young man who starts his teen years as a believer in Jesus and lives out his life in the pathway of God’s will.Pray for Wesley as he begins his journey of faith.
This Saturday I will head up to Baltimore, Ohio to begin another week of mission.On Sunday morning, the rest of our group will follow.Together, we will be serving about 65 families in this rural area with home repair, painting, and light construction.At the same time, we will be learning lessons about servant hood and the Christian life.We will be building relationships with other adults and teens from around the nation, as well as getting to know our resident we are serving.I am excited about sharing this week with our own church group.We would like all of you to keep us in your prayers.We return on Saturday, July 5th, and we will be sharing some of the things we experienced and learned during the morning worship service the next day.
This Sunday, Harold Ray will be preaching.I am grateful for his continued ministry here at First Christian, building upon a lifetime of faithful preaching and sharing God’s Word. I look forward to listening to his message on tape when I return.

Vacation Bible School
We did hear from "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" this year! Our Vacation Bible School was a huge success with over 100 in attendance the first night. We look forward to 2009 VBS!
WOMEN'S RETREAT
It is still some time before January 2009, but start making plans to attend a Women's Conference that month. There will be a great speaker as well as fantastic praise music for all you ladies.
