Nard  An expensive perfume made from a plant.

Nazarene  A person from the town of Nazareth.  

Nazirite  A person who took a special vow of self-dedication to God.  A Nazirite was not to drink alcohol, cut his hair, or touch a dead body.  The vow could be observed for only a certain period of time, but some Nazirites were dedicated to God from birth.

Nephilim  People who lived before the flood during the days of Noah.  The Nephlim, which means "fallen ones," were the children of women who had married supernatural beings, that is angels or messengers in God's heavenly court.   See Genesis 6.1-4.

Nineveh  The capital city of the Assyrian kingdom, located on the east bank of the Tigris River.  Nineveh is remembered in the Old Testament as the place where God sent Jonah to preach about God's mercy and forgiveness.

Nisan  The first month of the Hebrew calendar, from about mid-March to about mid-April.  Nisan is also called Abib.

Nomad  The term "nomad" comes from the Greek form of a Latin word meaning "to graze" or "to wander."  Nomads were wandering shepherds who moved their families and their locks of sheep and goats from place to place looking for good pasture land and water.  They lived in tents and took with them only what clothing and supplies they had to have.  They did not own land of their own but claimed the land they were using at the time.  Abraham is called a nomad.
